Natural pork, grass-fed beef & veal, free-range poultry & eggs.
Thank you for your interest in our farm. We live in the farmhouse where Ivan grew up, and we work the pastures and hayfields that were once farmed by his great-great-grandfather. Ivan has been a farmer for his entire career, Nancy came along in 1993, when she met Ivan and thought "a farmer; how quaint!" After fifteen years, she now knows the hard work involved in farming. Five years ago, we diversified our farm, adding retail sales of natural meats and poultry. Below you will find:

WHAT IS NATURAL, GRASS-FED FOOD?
Feeding small amounts of grain without antibiotics or artificial growth hormones,
and much more
Snafu Acres Veal and Beef: Our veal and beef come from bull calves born and raised here on our dairy farm. During their first few months, we group a few calves in large pens so we can monitor their health and be sure they are getting enough to eat and drink. These pens are in a greenhouse-style barn, so the calves still benefit from fresh air and sunshine. After that, they go out on pasture in small groups. Veal animals are raised to a size of 400-500 pounds; about six to nine months. Beef animals are raised 12-18 months. These animals may eat a small amount of grain each day, but most of their nutrition comes from pasture grasses and hay in the winter.
Snafu Acres Poultry and Eggs: Our chickens and turkeys are raised here on the farm, beginning in a brooder with a heat lamp. The chickens live in portable “chicken tractors”. These pens, called tractors because the chickens till and fertilize the soils as a tractor would, are moved onto fresh grass regularly. So the birds live in sunshine and fresh air, with fresh grass to eat each day. No medication is given, and there are no growth hormones or antibiotics in their feed. In the winter, our laying hens live in large pens.
Snafu Acres Pork: Our pigs are raised naturally, fed grains without growth hormones, antibiotics, or animal by-products. Because we haven’t perfected fencing for pigs, ours are raised in an open-ended barn, so that they get plenty of fresh air and sunshine. They are also fed a lot of fresh vegetables and fruits from nearby markets.
Guardian Llamas: Abra llama. he acts as protector for the poultry, keeping watch for coyotes and other possible predators. Their instinct is to approach unfamiliar things, and by doing this, they chase away predators looking for an easy meal.
